**Top Finishing New Mexico resident in the 2017 New Mexico Open was Andrew Richard Flores. Due to the 2017 bylaws and the tournament format, there was no requirement for residency to be declared State Champion, and as such the Championship title went to Colorado resident, Josh Bloomer, who finished in clear first with 5.5/6 points, however NMCO would still like to recognize Andrew Flores' accomplishment as clear top finishing New Mexico resident with 4/6 points. The rules regarding residency were adjusted after this tournament and went into effect starting in 2018.
